A happy ‘hello!’ to you all, and I hope you’re enjoying the Summer weather! This is the first edition of a quarterly newsletter I am beginning in order to provide an easy way to update everyone I know about the professional goings-on in my life. I hope you enjoy what you read, as most of you are a very large part of why I am finally able to do this. In advance, I’d like to thank you for being my friends Here it goes…..
2010 started off with a bang! Early in January, my good friend, Mark Schoenfeld, advised me to begin auditioning for some theatre projects. I followed his advice, and within the week, landed the leading role as “Rose,” in the musical Sleeping Beauty for Galli’s Fairytale Theatre in Manhattan. The show ran for 3 weeks, and it was a fantastic opportunity to get my feet wet in this crazy city’s theatre scene! Shortly thereafter, I became the host of the New York public access show called Extreme Art Television for The Society of Unique Artists. It’s been amazing to experience New York art at it’s finest and interview some of the most cutting-edge artists in the world! In early February, my friend Schoolly D, a legendary recording artist and producer, listened to a partial track I had recorded and invited me to his studio to write and record some songs. Within a few hours we laid down a few really exciting tracks, and we’re continuing to brainstorm some great ideas. I was also involved in the making of his newest music video for the track, “Just Can’t Help Myself.” It was a completely crazy, funny, zany day, and the video turned out really comedic and light-hearted. In early March, at the world-wide premiere of the documentary We Live in Public, about/starring the social media pioneer Josh Harris, Josh personally asked me to present the official We Live in Public uniform jacket to the host of the evening’s events, Adrien Grenier. That was quite an honor!
During the VIP Talent Connect Event on March 13th, I was able to reconnect with the completely fabulous and always stylish, Jess Zaino! That very day, she cast me in the spec commercial she was producing for Brooklyn Lager. What a great day! I was also featured in 4 scenes on an episode of Gossip Girl in which Sara Conte cast me. A few weeks later, my friendJohn Buffalo Mailer asked me to audition for a role in Tell Me the Truth, a short experimental film by the Emmy awardwinning director, Gena Konstantinakos. I nailed the audition and was cast in the film alongside greats such as John Buffalo Mailer (Wall Street 2), Meital Dohan (Weeds), and Steve Colman (Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry). WOWOWOW, what an AMAZING opportunity! Working with people of this level was a dream come true, and Gena’s directorial style was magical!
April was a whirlwind of adventure! Another Emmy award winning director, Benedict Hadley, had begun filming a reality show about VIP, entitled VIP/NYC, and I was cast in a leading role. I was instructed to carry a KodakZi8 camera with me at all times, filming myself throughout the course of my adventures. Some of these adventures included volunteering some time at the 3 Dot Dash International Youth Leadership Summit for global peace, hosted by the great producer, Nile Rogers. I also documented my double-life as a regular on-air model for the QVC Network, modeling cosmetics for (the fabulous) Laura Geller. A ridiculously talented guy, Benedict also wrote an OUTSTANDING script called Boost. He cast me as the principle role of “Keran,” the best friend of the lead character, “Simah.” After spending loads of time filming theElectronic Press Kit (EPK), we are expected to begin shooting sometime in the late summer. I couldn’t be more excited (and impatient) to get started! In late April, I had the experience of a lifetime at the Twitter #140Conf, where I was not only able hang out with Ivanka Trump backstage, but also had the AMAZING opportunity to interview the great and powerful TV personality, Donny Deutsch! I was so nervous my head was spinning, and I think it turned out pretty darn good!
After attending the awards ceremony at the Babelgum Film Festival in May, my good friend, director Ali Hossaini, consulted with me about a screenplay I have slowly begun to outline, and also the development of a book of poetry I’ve been writing in dribs and drabs for years. As summer continues, I hope to delve further into these personal projects. In mid-May, I volunteered 5 days of my life at the HOBY, the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership summit, held in Central PA. During these 5 days, I facilitated an amazing group of high school sophomores as they learned about the art and selflessness of community service, made pertinent political decisions as they sat in the PA House of Representatives, and made great personal strides as human beings. It was an amazing and rewarding week! To top off a crazy month, I also began modeling for (the totally awesome) Kate Somerville Skin Health Line on QVC.
2010 has been quite a year, thus far. I can’t wait to see what the summer will bring!
I have devised a list of goals to accomplish until I update you again. Here they are!
1) Create my own weekly show on YouTube
2) Start auditioning as often as humanly possible
3) Finish my reel (I’m still waiting on bits of promising footag
4) VISIT HOLLYWOOD (finally!)
5) Finish my website (looong overdue)
Thank you for reading up on my life as of late. I hope this update finds you happy, healthy, and enjoying the sunshine!

Co-Writer Sought for Screenplay in NYC!
I’ve been working in production in New York for over ten years and
have recently begun developing my own projects under my company
banner, Notable Features, alongside my role as Vox3 Films’ Head of
Production.

Last year I applied for the Sundance Creative Producing Grant and made
to the last round before getting nixed This year I will reapply with
this project. Specifically, I am hoping to bring on another
Writer/Co-Producer who can give a meaningful and credible voice to one
of the two main characters in the story, as well as be a creative and
logistical partner in fleshing out the role of Harlem, a central
location and in my view, also a key “character”.
Without such a partnership, the credibility and depth of this story
will certainly fall short.
Over the past year I have been working on a dramatic character piece
that will be shot on a shoestring budget in Manhattan. HARMONY
(working title) is the story Lena, a troubled young Russian emigrant
who goes adrift in New York City after the elderly woman she cares for
suddenly dies.
The film, inspired by the highly publicized case of a woman who
underwent a dissociative fugue in New York in 2009, should possess a
dreamlike quality, focusing on the details of New York as seen through
Lena’s eyes. She will bring the perspective of an outsider freed from
societal dictates. In her enchanted New York City, intimate and
unlikely relationships form out of this newfound liberation. She
eventually finds her way to Harlem and there befriends T.K., a single
father trying to make a living for his young son as an ambulette
driver. Lena eventually falls for T.K. after discovering his innate
talent as a spoken word poet. She helps T.K. prepare for a live
performance that is supposed to be broadcast. Soon after, she sees
the possibility of T.K. reuniting with his son’s mother and she
realizes that she has no place in his makeshift family.
I have a screenwriter on board (Ivan Weiss) and a Director (Tatia
Pilieva). I’ve known and worked with Tatia a number of times in the
past, and she, an immigrant from the Republic of Georgia, will bring a
personal voice to this project.
I would very much appreciate you forwarding this blog entry to anyone who
may be interested in meeting with me. I have a long treatment that I
can forward to anyone who is interested.
Thank you in advance for your help.
All best,
Jenny Schweitzer

Shark Tank
The producers of the new ABC reality series Shark Tankare on a nationwide search to discover the next successful – and possibly wealthy – entrepreneurs, inventors, businesspersons, dreamers, promoters, creators and innovators. In each episode, budding entrepreneurs are given the
unprecedented chance to make their business ideas come true. The show will premiere over the summer following the special 10th anniversary primetime return of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
If you have an existing business that needs a financial injection or feel you have a lucrative business idea but just can’t seem to secure the financial backing to get it off the ground, then Shark Tank is just the show for you. Casting is looking for aspiring entrepreneurs who can pitch their breakthrough business concepts, products, properties and services to moguls in hopes of landing investment funds. If selected, five real-life, tough investors could be willing to part with their own hard-earned cash and give you the funding you need to jumpstart your idea. But the investors, also known as Sharks, aren’t just out to invest; they too have a goal – to own a piece of your next big idea.
Your business idea should be top-notch and something the Sharks will really want to sink their teeth into and might even spark a bidding war between them. Who knows – you could be the fortunate entrepreneur who gets the Sharks to reveal the true level of their interest and bid up the price of your investment!
EMAIL US AT: SharkTankCasting@yahoo.com
Please include your name, age, contact info, a recent photo, and a brief, NON-CONFIDENTIAL description of your idea. Good luck.

Audition Stategies is BACK!
Audition Strategies: an Actor’s Workshop from a Producer’s perspective

Join us in the widely popular Audition Workshop!
When Sean Young, donning a leather costume, mask, and a whip, stormed into the studio demanding an audition for the role of Catwoman in Batman Returns, director Tim Burton hid under his desk.
Case-in-point: Persistence vs Pestering
When asked to read for a role, Shelly Winters once slammed down her two Oscars and asked the casting director, “Ya still want me to audition?” She got the part.
Case-in-point: Confidence vs Cockiness
The night before his audition, Mel Gibson got a broken nose and disconnected jaw in a bar brawl. Director
George Miller loved the look and cast him as Mad Max.
Case-in-point: Looking the Part vs Being Yourself
AUDITION STRATEGIES is a one-day, intensive workshop for actors who want to learn simple and effective techniques, facts, and tips that will get them the parts they want.
Who Should Attend: Aspiring actors who have talent, passion, discipline, and even agents, but hit a wall every time they audition, never able to pinpoint exactly what goes wrong.
Why This Class: This workshop is NOT an acting class. It is not conducted by an acting teacher, a coach, an agent or even a casting director. Instead, it is conducted by the casting DECIDER, aka the producer/director. He is the one who actually sees what mistakes actors make and knows the dos and don’ts of auditioning.
What You Learn: In this 1-day, intensive, hands-on workshop, actors will go through each step of the audition process and learn fast, simple and effective ways to build your portfolio, your confidence, and your chance to get the part. Participants will quickly become adept at handling real-world situations through lectures, Q&A’s, and demonstrations, providing them with the tips and tricks necessary to capture the audience- the Producer

FOX Reality’s “Solitary 3.0 & 4.0″ Invade “Robert Galinsky’s RealityWanted Radio”!!!
FOX Reality’s “Solitary 3.0 & 4.0″ Invade Robert Galinsky’s Reality Wanted this Wednesday February 3rd! Join us for exclusive interviews and access to: Executive Producers Andrew J. Golder and Lincoln Hiatt, Andrew Sabat winner of Solitary 3.0, Maureen Francisco and RobRob from Solitary 3.0, and Nick Leland from Soliatry 4.0.
Call in live at 877.242.8212 between 6-8pm EST to talk to our guests and listen live at http://chataboutit.com/about/robert-galinskys-reality.

Maureen Francisco
More About FOX Reality’s “Solitary”
Solitary is the thinking man’s reality show. Part SAW, part 2001: A Space Odyssey, part Portal Aside from being thought provoking it also offers up plenty of grim and guilty pleasures.

Andrew Sabat 1st Place Finisher 3.0
This is how it essentially works: 9 people are quarantined in they’re own personal pod. They’re food and sleep deprived. They are also made to undergo maddening and near torturous “treatments”, Like sitting on a bowling ball for an hour or having to smell the worst smells you can possibly imagine (such as “liquid ass”) or having to keep their tongue fixed to a plate of glass. Anyone can quit anytime they want to. All they have to do is push a big red button conveniently placed in their pod. The first one to push it gets kicked out of the game. As long as you don’t push the button first, you’re still in. Nobody knows how anyone else is doing during “treatments”. No one knows who has or hasn’t pushed the button.

RobRob
It’s a total mind screw. Now add to this mix a computer companion named “VAL” who’s voice is the only company any of the contestants have during their stay in Solitary. Part sadist, part confidante, and sometimes friend, a slightly less sinister version of 2001: A Space Odyssey’s HAL, VAL is the game show host for the new millennium.
It’s fascinating to watch how people react when pushed to the limits of their physical and emotional endurance and it’s one of the most interesting pieces of television out there right now. It’s no surprise to me that it’s the most successful show in Fox Reality Channel’s history.
“RobertGalinsky’s RealityWanted” – Every Wednesday 6-8pm EST on ChatAboutIt.com energized by CBS. Call in live to 877.CHAT.212 and be a part of the show… featuring the Kodak Zi8 Pocket Camera. RGRW is Co-Produced by RealityWanted and the New York Reality TV School.

“Robert, we have an open slate to cast whoever we want… for whatever we want or need. Anyone that you might be able to send along, I would 100% guarantee that they get face time.” Producer Director “Rock In A Hard Place”
“Rock In A Hard Place” – A series that features eccentric employees, wild musicians and the larger than life
club-owning Frank Pallet, all under the same sun operating a rock theater, dance club, multiple bars, and a restaurant. An original reality series, that chronicles the “actions, adventures and mischief” inside the legendary Chance Theater complex in Poughkeepsie, NY – as well as all the behind the scenes antics involved with putting on shows with national recording artists. The cast of the show is an assorted bag of personalities; from the owner-manager sexual tension relationship, to the blistering performers, to the misfit employees (including an quiet endearing all around guy and a hot-headed bouncer), the city PD, sexy club goers and the mob all of whom join together to turn this aged complex into the city’s place to be for a good time….oh, yeah, it’s haunted too… //////////
On Friday 02/05 we are filming with the bands Five Finger Death Punch and Shadows Fall. They will encompass live performance footage and backstage/tour bus debauchery.
We are poising this for potential, subsequent seasons, casting, i.e.: Rock In A Hard Place-Poughkeepsie, next season Rock In A Hard Place-Miami, next season, next city…
Please email Daniel.Bucci@comcast.net or Robert Niebrzydowski at loveactingalways@yahoo.com for more info!

Dear Friend in the Theatre,
We’re still looking for plays for the Short Play Lab on February 6th and 7th. Our ambitious program of as many as 4 programs a month, curated by 4 playwright/producers, has created an opportunity for some NYC playwrights.
The rules are easy-peasy:
Plays should be 1 – 10 pp. in standard playscript format.*
Submit scripts in MS-Word.
You produce the play; the SPL provides the theatre (the 65-seat Studio Blackbird at Where Eagles Dare).
Productions must be non-union: no showcases please! (Solo shows may get an Equity waiver, if Equity approves.)
Keep production values to a minimum: costumes and hand props are okay. We provide rehearsal cubes, chairs, a table or two, and a couch.
We provide a board op, box office, and venue management.
There are no fees. The SPL keeps the door.
Tickets are $15. Each playwright and director gets 1 comp each. Comps are non-transferable. If you’re involved in more than 1 play, you still get only 1 comp. There are no industry comps.
There is a tech rehearsal. Plays get either 15 mins of tech (1 – 5 pp.) or 30 mins. of tech (6 – 10 pp.).
Where Eagles Dare rehearsal studios offer 10% off on rates.
Every play gets 2 performances.
*12 pt Times Roman; character names in the middle on their own line; line spaces between speeches and stage directions; indented stage directions
Many of last season’s SPL veterans ended up in the Midtown International Theatre Festival’s Short Subjects series, not surprising since I produce both events. We are also seeking longer one-act plays for the ongoing Short Subjects (cont.) series. Regardless of your plans for your play, the SPL is a lot of fun and a good way to see your work on its feet in a supportive environment. It’s also a great way to see actors and directors at work.
To submit a script, send it as an attachment to john.chatterton@gmail.com.
Thanks,
John Chatterton

E. Vil City is joining forces with Royal Flush Magazine, a nationally-distributed killer rag that celebrates underground music, art, video games, pop-culture and indie movies. With its strict, no-fluff stance and with what Media Post says “displays more creativity in its first 25 pages than most publications do in an entire year.”, The Royal Flush is a logical pairing.
We are excited to announce that these allied organizations, equally impassioned in their commitment to awesome content, have formed a collaborative relationship based on a shared obsession for the media and culture that they support.
The Royal Flush Festival will work extensively to bring you the best in art, film and music and will offer attendees better bang for their buck, while giving our filmmakers greater exposure.
